Free Three-Card Tarot Reading — Past, Present, Future

Past / Present / Future. The sentence most people need.

When you need a pattern, not a single weather report.

Three backs, then three faces. The page is built to hold a sentence, not a novella. For how to read the shape, see the lesson — this page is for sitting down.

  1. 1. Past
  2. 2. Present
  3. 3. Future

A three-card tarot reading is the spread most people actually need. Three positions — past, present, future — give a question a shape without asking you to sit a ten-card map. You name the question, draw three cards from the Rider–Waite–Smith deck, and the reader writes about the three that landed, in the order they landed.

Past is not advice. Present is not a diagnosis. Future is not a verdict with a date on it. Each position has a job, and the interpretation has to live inside those jobs. If a sentence could have been written without looking at the table, it does not belong in the reading.

Use three cards when a single daily card keeps flattening the question and a Celtic Cross feels like too much scaffolding. It is the middle table: enough structure to show a pattern, small enough to read in one sitting.

Questions about online tarot

What do the three cards mean?

The first card is the past or the root of the situation, the second is the present or the heart of it, and the third is the likely direction if nothing changes. The reader names the cards in those positions, not a generic fortune.

Is the three-card tarot reading free?

The three-card spread needs a signed-in balance. The daily tarot card stays free either way. The ritual is the same: question, table, draw, then text.
